From October 12-16, CVWD will be installing part of a purified water conveyance pipeline on Carpinteria Avenue. The installation will extend from Maple Avenue to Eugenia Place and occur from 8:30 PM to 6:30 AM to minimize impact to the community. Paving work will be completed on October 19-20 during the day.

Crews are installing sheet piles at the new Advanced Water Purification Facility. These are interlocking steel panels driven into the ground to form a wall that holds back the soil. This creates a stable work zone so crews can safely excavate for a new water storage tank. To learn more about the update with CAPP, visit cvwd.net/CAPP.

We’re proud to announce that Carpinteria Valley Water District was honored as “Recycled Water Agency of the Year” at this year’s WateReuse California Conference! This award recognizes the agency that has demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing water recycling.

CVWD was honored for our work on the Carpinteria Advanced Purification Project (CAPP), which will be the first of its kind in Santa Barbara county. Once complete, CAPP will provide up to 25% of the District’s water needs, providing a locally-controlled, drought-resistant drinking water supply.

Construction crews are in full swing building the Carpinteria Advanced Purification Project (CAPP)! Construction is currently taking place on 6th Street and Olive Avenue from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. installing an underground pipeline. At the same time, a crew at the Carpinteria Sanitary District Wastewater Treatment Plant is setting a strong foundation for the new advanced water purification facility. Customers can expect temporary traffic detours, partial lane closures, and construction noise during standard working hours.

CAPP will replenish the groundwater basin with purified recycled water, creating a locally-controlled, drought-resistant drinking water supply. To learn more, visit CVWD.net/CAPP.
