This week, participants in Study Hall completed a sanction project focused on reflection, accountability, and future growth. They wrote about what they’ve gained from Drug Court so far, what they want out of life after the program, then learned about SMART Goals and developed their own personal goal statements.
As the final part of the project, they created vision boards bringing their goals and dreams to life. In Accountability Courts, sanctions are not only meant to redirect behavior, but also encourage self-reflection, growth, and long-term development.
Our team joined in too as part of our biweekly team-building exercise! Participants were excited to share their boards with the Team during court and display them in the group rooms with their counselors. We are proud of the honesty, effort, and vulnerability they continue showing in recovery.

"Seeing the miracle happen."
In recovery, we always say, don't give up before the miracle happens. We get to see this every day in our participants lives.
Due to the perils of addiction, Mr. Collins has never had a valid driver's license. In our program, as a part of his case plan, our case manager, Brittany Rutledge (pictured on the right) was able to help Mr. Collins with structured support such as FT employment, savings/spending budget, completing all DDS course requirements, pay ~$3500 in reinstatement fees. Mr. Collins now, not only possesses a valid DL for the first time, yet also with the credit and savings that he has built in his recovery, he was able to buy himself a brand new Nissan Sentra from Scott Evans Nissan here in Carrollton GA. We appreciate their community support in helping Mr. Collins make this happen!
Additionally, we offer incentives for those continuing to do well, which at times, participants can choose their incentives. Mr. Henderson enjoys picking Coffee with the Team, which he chose our Treatment Team (Lisa Merrell, Vivian Crim, and Grayland Reese) to enjoy each other's company over a cup of coffee at Sprinkle’s Donuts and Coffee Co Carrollton. Addiction takes you into seclusion, yet recovery keeps you connected. We're very proud of the life Mr. Henderson has built for himself and he was grateful to enjoy this time staying connected with his counselors. It speaks volumes for him choosing to enjoy this moment!
Help us congratulate the great moves our participants are making while we watch the miracles happen!

Carroll County Drug Court Participant transforms our donation closet into a Place of Purpose & Hope reshaping and renaming - “Redefined Closet”.
At Carroll County Drug Court, recovery is not only about accountability, it’s about rebuilding purpose and giving back. One of our participants, Ms. Gipson, recently transformed our donation closet into a warm, organized, and welcoming space, now called the Redefined Closet - a name that reflects the journey of redefining one’s life in recovery. What was once simple storage is now designed to feel like a small boutique, allowing participants a shopping experience. This effort was entirely voluntary. Ms. Gipson dedicated her own time to create a space that reflects care and respect for others walking a similar path. An additional participant, who wishes to remain anonymous, contributed his carpentry skills by building a sturdy clothing rack, helping bring the vision to life. Together, their work created more than a resource. It created an experience where individuals feel supported, valued, and respected. This project reflects the heart of our program: individuals not only working toward their own recovery, but also redefining their purpose and giving back along the way.
We are in great need of men's clothing. Should you feel lead to giving, we accept new to gently warn clothes & shoes of all sizes. We appreciate anyone that is able to help. We also accept good books to read for our mini library. Please contact Drug Court for a donation location: 770-830-9942 [email protected]

One thing we are proud of is coaching participants on carrying themselves differently now that they're in recovery. Being 20+ years in addiction with the same look will have you feeling like you're still in addiction, yet with just one decent haircut can make you feel like a new person... walking a path in recovery.
Ms. Allyson had the pleasure of helping Mr. Richardson today in that piece of his recovery journey. Elle Salon on the Square supports those in recovery and treats our participants with the highest respect giving them the dignity they deserve. While sitting in Elle Salon's chairs, they are given the most top notch treatment. We're very grateful to have such a partnership. We are thankful for April and her talented staff!

"Coffee with a Team Member"
As part of recognizing positive choices and consistent efforts, our program provides incentives. Mr. Holland and Mr. Henderson earned the opportunity to have Coffee with a Team Member and chose Judge Hightower. Enjoying a good cup of coffee at Sprinkle's Donuts in Carrollton, our Drug Court judge sat side by side with these gentlemen, engaging in meaningful conversation and listening to their stories.
