Yesterday, participants joined us for our Crape Myrtle Pruning Workshop, where they learned helpful tips and techniques for properly pruning and caring for their crape myrtles to keep them healthy, beautiful, and blooming for seasons to come! 🌸🌳

From learning the right pruning practices to understanding how proper care can make a difference, everyone gained valuable knowledge to take home and put to use in their own landscapes.

A big THANK YOU to our Commercial Horticulture Agent, Wade Hummer, who made this workshop a success! We love helping our community grow their gardening knowledge and cultivate beautiful landscapes right here in Pickens County! πŸ’šπŸŒ±

πŸ“£ Stay tuned for more educational workshops and events from the Pickens County Extension Office!

Beef Systems Short Course - Session 3!

We had another great session of the Beef Systems Short Course at the Pickens County Extension Office last night.

This session focused on two important areas of beef production:

Nutrient Management & Environmental Stewardship - learning how responsible nutrient management can improve farm efficiency while protecting our land, water, and natural resources.

Meat Quality & Yield - exploring the factors that influence beef quality, carcass value, and overall yield, helping producers better understand what happens from the pasture to the plate.

A special thank you to Associate Extension Professor and Specialist Kent Stanford for sharing his expertise and providing valuable insight throughout the session!

Learning today. Improving tomorrow. Building a stronger beef industry together!
