🚧 East William St. Project: Upcoming Traffic Control 🚧

Traffic control for Saturday (10/17) and Sunday (10/18):
🔹 Saliman Intersection: Closed to northbound and southbound traffic. Westbound and eastbound open. Traffic signal will be flashing red.
🔹 The weekend work schedule has been updated to include paving operations at the Saliman intersection on both Saturday and Sunday. This revised schedule gives the project team more flexibility to coordinate the work and complete paving operations safely and efficiently while keeping the intersection partially open.
🔹 During working hours, the Saliman intersection will be closed to northbound and southbound traffic. Eastbound and westbound traffic on William Street will remain open.

Traffic control week of October 19, 2026:
🔹 Gold Dust West Intersection: Closed to northbound and southbound traffic. Westbound and eastbound open (Monday only)
🔹 Saliman Intersection: Flashing red traffic signal (Monday - Wednesday)
🔹 William St. between Carson and I-580: Single lane open in each direction (24 hours/day)

Place bagged leaves and limb bundles near the curb in plain view by Nov. 9 at 7:15 a.m. Limbs must be less than 6 feet long, no wider than 4 inches in diameter, and tied in bundles. Bags and bundles must not exceed 60 pounds.

Pick-ups begin Nov. 9. We will not pick up: garbage, old appliances, furniture, lumber, or fireplace ashes.

🚧 Final paving on East William Street begins Monday, October 12!

Crews will resurface East William Street between Roop Street and Russell Way near I-580 through Thursday, October 22, weather permitting. Work hours are Monday–Saturday, 7 a.m.–5:30 p.m., including Saturday, October 17.

Here’s what to expect:
🔹 One lane in each direction, with traffic shifts. Drivers can expect to travel on a milled roadway surface for about one week.
🔹 The Saliman intersection will be closed to northbound and southbound traffic during working hours. Eastbound and westbound traffic on William Street will remain open. See the graphic for detour information.
🔹 Business access will be maintained, with brief driveway closures of approximately one hour on Monday, October 19 while crews pave. Flaggers will assist drivers; please use alternate entrances when available.

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow posted signs.

Thank you for your patience as we reach the project’s final major construction milestone! Final striping, landscaping, and finishing work will follow, with full completion anticipated in November, weather permitting.

JAC Route 2A is getting a minor update beginning Monday, October 5!

📍 One bus stop on Desatoya Drive, between Glacier Drive and Cascade Drive, will be removed.
📍 Two new stops will be added on Butti Way, in front of the JAC Administration Building and Sierra Flats Apartments.

These changes will improve transit connections to both locations. Route 2A riders, please review the updated route and stop locations before your next trip. No other routes will be affected.
