Twenty five years ago Mayor Failace and the Borough Council added a new chapter to the Code of the Borough of Carteret designated as Chapter 27 and entitled “Historical Committee”. The first Carteret Historical Committee members were appointed August 30, 2001.
Through the generosity from the community, the Committee continues collect, and archive, items of historical significance. Our home at Blazing Star Cultural Arts Center provides gallery space that gives the Committee the ability to share Carteret’s historic heritage with the community.
The Carteret Historical Committee wishes to thank the Mayor, Borough Council, past and current members and friends for an amazing 25 years! Here’s to many more!

100 years ago, Carteret High School celebrated its first graduating class with guest speaker then NJ Governor A. Harry Moore. A proud accomplishment for graduates, parents, staff and the Borough of Carteret! This article is from the Perth Amboy Evening News. (A much larger article appears in the June 18, 1926, edition of the Carteret Press found in the local history digital newspapers at Woodbridge Library.)

Congratulations to the Class of 2026!
