🎉 Celebrating Our Smith County BOE Retirees! 🎉

Smith County BOE celebrated five outstanding retirees yesterday with a delicious meal prepared by our Smith County School Nutrition Department. We are grateful for the years of dedication, hard work, and service these individuals have given to our schools and students.

Pictured are Mrs. Hackett, Ms. McDonald, and Mr. Eddlemon. Also celebrating this special milestone are Mrs. Scudder and Mrs. Buchanan, who are not pictured.

Please join us in congratulating all five retirees and wishing them a wonderful retirement filled with happiness, relaxation, and exciting new adventures! 💙👏

Thank you for the lasting impact you have made on Smith County Schools!

🌟 Huge Thank You to Our Community Sponsors! 🌟
Things have been non-stop since school started last month, but we haven't forgotten the amazing folks who helped us kick it off! We want to pause and send a huge thank you to all the local businesses, organizations, and community partners who stepped up to welcome our teachers back. ✨
The outpouring of generosity, support, and warm welcomes this year has been nothing short of amazing. From offering door prizes and donating supplies to providing meals, treats, and special discounts, your kindness has truly made our educators feel valued, celebrated, and ready to inspire.
Our community is stronger when we stand together to support our schools, and we are beyond fortunate to have partners like you in our corner.
Thank you for making this school year’s kickoff so memorable and special for our teachers! ❤️📚

Leadership during challenging times requires vision, experience, and a genuine commitment to our kids...and we are so blessed to have that in our Director of Schools, Dr. John Ash.

As a Smith County native, Dr. Ash came back home to lead our district following nearly 17 years as the founding principal of Central Magnet School, where he built a program that was recently named the #1 Public High School in the Nation by U.S. News & World Report. 🏆 #1 in the Nation!!!!!!🏆

Tough budget seasons and difficult discussions come and go, but having a proven, top-tier educator leading our district gives Smith County an incredibly bright future. Dr. Ash works tirelessly every day for our students, teachers, and staff, and Smith County is lucky to have him!

Congratulations, Dr. Ash!
