🏛️ Last week, our second grade Dual Language students wrapped up their Ancient Greece unit with a fun, hands-on challenge!

Students became engineers as they designed, built, tested, and improved their very own catapults! It was so much fun watching them work together, solve problems, and bring their ideas to life.

Between building, testing, and a few flying objects, things got a little busy! We may not have captured many pictures, but there was definitely plenty of learning, laughter, and excitement!

Who knew learning about Ancient Greece could be such a blast? 🏹 Our second graders sure did! 🎉

🎉 Fusion Fiesta: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! 🎉

What a great time at our annual Fusion Fiesta! Families joined us for a fun-filled evening celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, complete with a piñata contest, Lotería, book creation, collaborative art, dancing, and nachos!

It was wonderful to see our school community come together to celebrate culture, creativity, and connection. Thank you to all the families who joined us, and a HUGE thank-you to our amazing teachers and staff who worked hard to make this event such a success!

Our first grade dual language students had a sweet time making Paleta Payasos! Students practiced writing simple sentences in Spanish by describing how their Paleta Payaso was feeling. After showing off their Spanish writing skills, everyone got to enjoy a Paleta Payaso of their own! What a fun way to combine language learning and a little treat!

After exploring the different people who help our community, students put their learning into action by writing sentences about the community members they see throughout Carthage.

🚦 96% ATTENDANCE = GOAL ACHIEVED! 🚦

Our students met our schoolwide attendance goal of 96% for August and September and that called for a celebration!

🦺 As a reward, Mrs. Hensley and Mrs. Mikhail joined dismissal dressed as traffic cones!

📸 Mrs. Mikhail may have been caught by the cameras… but Mrs. Hensley successfully escaped the paparazzi!

We are so proud of our students for showing up, learning, and making every school day count!

Our 2nd graders had a *tall tale* of a good time celebrating the end of our Tall Tales unit with a special **Paul Bunyan Day!**

Students enjoyed pancakes, watched Paul Bunyan come to life on screen, and created their own drawings of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox.

It was the perfect way to wrap up our learning! We loved seeing our students laugh, have fun, and celebrate all they’ve learned throughout the unit.

📚🎶 Kindergarten Nursery Rhyme Parade! 🎶📚

Kindergarten wrapped up their first Amplify Reading unit, exploring classic nursery rhymes and fables through read-alouds, rhyming activities, acting, drawing, retelling, and lots of discussion.

To celebrate all their learning, students ended the unit with a Nursery Rhyme Parade, dressing up as characters and ideas from their favorite rhymes!

What a fun way to bring their learning to life!

🌎📚 Happy Hispanic Heritage Month, Fairview Tigers! 📚🌎

Today is the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, and we’re excited to celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, stories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities! ❤️💛💙💚

Throughout the month, our students will have opportunities to learn, read, explore, and celebrate. Our library has put together a special slide presentation filled with read-alouds and other fun goodies for students to enjoy. Teachers can share the presentation with their classes, and families are welcome to explore it together at home!
