Heads up! The Town of Cary and CSX Transportation will permanently close the at-grade railroad crossing at Carpenter Fire Station Road on July 11. You will still be able to cross the tracks by using Morrisville Carpenter Road to the south. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/2JMa92q.

You’re invited to provide input on the proposed Louis Stephens Drive Extension. NCDOT will hold a public information session from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Town Hall (100 Town Hall Drive). Drop in to view proposed plans and talk with NCDOT representative. Please note that no formal presentation will be made.
Comments can be submitted at the meeting, via phone, email, or mail by December 22, 2017. Comments received will be taken into consideration as the project develops.
Project information and materials can be viewed as they become available online at http://www.ncdot.gov/projects/publicmeetings. Look for Tip Number U-5827, Proposed Louis Stephens Drive Extension.

Working farm to be developed in western Cary
The Cary Town Council approved an 8-year lease with the Piedmont Conservation Council to subleasing about 1/2- to 2-acre plots to newly trained farmers. PCC plans to develop the farm this fall, and farmers will begin planting this spring.

Cary’s Carpenter Village core project moves forward after changes
The Town Council unanimously approved rezoning about 10 acres at the southeast corner of Gathering Park Circle and Morrisville Carpenter Road to allow for shops, offices, condos and townhomes in the Carpenter Village core after the developer tweaked the plan to ease resident concerns.
