It's National Friends of the Library Week, and it's fitting since our Friends just finished hosting their bi-annual used book sale this past weekend, and it was such a success!

This year, FOCAL helped fund our new Learning Garden and the festivities for our 75th anniversary. We are so appreciative of the awesome volunteers who help year-round to support the Library and, therefore, the community!

Learn more about FOCAL and what they do through the link in our bio!

It's Banned Books Week, and it's your right to read what you want—exercise that right this October! Browse our display of frequently challenged titles or view the most challenged books in 2025 from the American Library Association (🔗 also in bio), and, most importantly, checkout one to read. We also have "I Read Banned Books" buttons on our display for you to take and show your support.

Did you know that we have an app, and one of the features of the app is that it allows you to store your CAPL card in it? It will display your card as a scannable barcode you can present to staff when checking out or scan when using the self-check machines, meaning you don't have to have your physical card with you to checkout. 🧐 caryarealibrary.org/app

The Rotary Club of Cary-Grove presented us with grant funds for our Learning Garden. Some of the things we were able to fund include topsoil, herbs, the garden sign, kneeling pads, kids' gardening sets, and much more. We thank them for their generous support and efforts to help get this exciting initiative growing ... er, going!

📷 Left to right are Rotarian Cindy Finlon, CAPL Outreach Coordinator Hannah, CAPL Executive Director Ashley Huffines, and Rotarian Pat Finlon.
