US Army Recruiting North Carolina Raleigh Headquarters

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage of the first responders, service members, and ordinary Americans who answered an extraordinary moment with bravery and selflessness.
Twenty-five years later, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives taken that day, the families forever changed, and the generations of Americans who answered the call to serve in the years that followed.
For the Raleigh Recruiting Battalion, today is a reminder of the commitment embodied by those who choose to serve our Nation and defend the freedoms we hold dear.
We will never forget.

Happy Juneteenth! 🎉

Today, we honor June 19, 1865—the day the news of emancipation finally reached the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas, marking the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation.

As we celebrate Black freedom, resilience, and culture, we also pause to honor the incredible courage of the soldiers who fought side-by-side to make this liberation a reality. This day belongs to the legacy of the United States Colored Troops (USCT) and the white Union soldiers who stood, fought, and sacrificed together on the battlefields of the Civil War to dismantle slavery and preserve the Union.

When Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston to deliver General Order No. 3, he was backed by a diverse force of Union soldiers—both Black and white—who marched together to ensure that freedom was finally enforced.

Their shared commitment to the cause of liberty laid the foundation for the freedoms we celebrate today. As we commemorate this historic day, let us remember their collective sacrifice and recommit to the ongoing journey toward unity, equality, and justice for all.

Celebrate the freedom, honor the ancestors, and salute the brave soldiers who fought together to secure it. ✨✊🏾🇺🇸

A special moment at the UNC Chapel Hill vs. West Point lacrosse game as 16 future Soldiers took the oath of enlistment, administered by retired Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, the 18th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The ceremony took place during the game on Saturday, March 21, 2026, where UNC beat Army 12-11.

Congratulations to these brave individuals on their commitment to serve our country!

It’s more than a game — it’s a tradition.

As the Army–Navy rivalry takes center stage, we’re proud to stand behind the values of duty, discipline, and teamwork that define the United States Military Academy and the Soldiers they will become.

From the field to the formation, Army athletes represent the same grit and commitment we see in Soldiers across the force.

Beat Navy.
Go Army.
