🚔 HALLOWEEN SAFETY TIPS FROM THE CARYVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT!

Halloween is almost here, and we're looking forward to seeing all the little ghosts, goblins, superheroes, and princesses out enjoying the fun!

Before everyone heads out for trick-or-treating, we want to remind our families and motorists of a few simple safety tips to help keep Halloween safe and enjoyable for everyone.

🎃 Stay Together! Children should always be accompanied by a parent or trusted adult.

🔦 Be Seen! Wear bright or reflective clothing and carry a flashlight.

🏠 Stick to Familiar Areas! Visit well-lit neighborhoods and homes.

🚗 Watch for Traffic! Use sidewalks, cross at intersections, and never assume a driver sees you.

🍬 Check the Candy! Parents should inspect all treats before allowing children to enjoy them.

🚨 DRIVERS, PLEASE SLOW DOWN! Expect extra pedestrian traffic, watch carefully for children, and use additional caution in residential neighborhoods.

Remember, Halloween should be full of treats, laughter, and good memories — not accidents or injuries.

The Caryville Police Department wishes all our children, families, and neighbors a SAFE, FUN, AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 🎃

Whether it's suspicious activity, an unfamiliar vehicle behaving strangely, possible drug activity, unusual behavior, or simply something that doesn't seem right — we encourage you to speak up!

CARYVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 28, 2026
WANTED AGGRAVATED ASSAULT SUSPECT LOCATED AND TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

CARYVILLE, TENNESSEE — The Caryville Police Department announces that Jacob D. Carroll of Rocky Top, Tennessee, wanted in connection with an aggravated assault at the Caryville Shell station, has been located and taken into custody by deputies with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.

The arrest follows an investigation into an incident that occurred on October 22, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., at the Shell gas station on John McGhee Boulevard near Interstate 75 Exit 134 in Caryville.

According to the investigation, Carroll allegedly entered the business, confronted a store clerk, repeatedly attempted to provoke a physical altercation, and threatened the employee. When the clerk refused to engage, Carroll allegedly kicked the victim in the head while the employee was seated. The victim sustained visible injuries.

Caryville Police Officer Dustin Evans responded to the initial call and immediately began investigating. Despite the suspect having fled the scene, Officer Evans took the initiative to obtain surveillance footage, interview witnesses, gather evidence, and develop investigative leads, concluding the investigation by issuing arrest warrants.

The Rocky Top Police Department provided valuable assistance during the identification process.

Following the release of information to the public seeking Carroll's whereabouts, he was located and taken into custody by Anderson County deputies.

Chief of Police Aaron Evans stated:

"This was a disturbing and seemingly unprovoked act of violence against a store clerk simply doing his job.

That is what good, proactive police work looks like. Officer Dustin Evans's determination, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile for victim reflect the kind of service we expect from the Caryville Police Department.

We are also grateful to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office for taking Mr. Carroll into custody and the Rocky Top Police Department for their assistance in identifying him.

To the public, our local news media, and our fellow law enforcement partners who shared information and helped spread awareness, thank you. Your cooperation matters, and this case demonstrates what can be accomplished when law enforcement agencies and the communities we serve work together."

We sincerely thank everyone who assisted in bringing this case to a resolution.

All individuals accused of criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

🚨 WANTED JACOB CARROLL FOR — AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 🚨

The Caryville Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in locating Jacob D. Carroll of Rocky Top, Tennessee, who is currently wanted on an active arrest warrant for Aggravated Assault.

The charge stems from an incident on October 22, 2026, at the Shell gas station on John McGhee Boulevard, near Interstate 75 Exit 134 in Caryville.

According to the investigation, Carroll allegedly confronted a store clerk, attempted to provoke a fight, threatened the employee, and then kicked the clerk in the head while the employee was seated.

"This warrant stems from what we believe
was a disturbing, unprovoked aggravated assault against a store clerk at the Shell station in Caryville at Exit 134. The clerk was sitting stationary and essentially blindsided. There is absolutely no excuse for this violence and we intend to see that this victim is served with our total commitment." said Chief of Police Aaron Evans.
