This week, Central Arizona Aging (CAA) was pleased to welcome JoAnna Mendoza, Arizona Congressional District 6 candidate, and U.S. Congresswoman Suzan DelBene, representing Washington’s 1st Congressional District, to our central kitchen, Meals on Wheels Central Arizona.

During their visit, we discussed the growing nutritional needs of older adults, increasing waitlists for services, and the unique challenges facing seniors in our rural communities. We also shared how CAA staff, our Board of Directors and partners are working hard to address these needs and support the well-being of our aging population.

Our guests rolled up their sleeves alongside CAA Board Chairwoman Belinda Akes, helping dish and seal meals for delivery to seniors in Hayden, Winkelman, Mammoth, and San Manuel! 🙌

We are so grateful for their time, hands-on support, and interest in the work we do. Every meal makes a difference in helping older adults maintain their health, independence, and dignity.

Together, we can continue strengthening our communities and ensuring our seniors receive the care and nutrition they deserve. 💙

Central Arizona Aging is proud to share our CEO, Ana Medina, alongside Yolanda Leos, CAA Board Member, and JoAnne Galindo, CAA Advisory Board Chair, who recently participated in an event with Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs and Casa Grande community leaders to launch the Seniors for Katie Coalition.

A special thank you to the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans (AARA) for sponsoring this event and bringing together community leaders and advocates to highlight the importance of supporting Arizona’s older adults.

The event emphasized the importance of ensuring that seniors have access to quality care, affordable housing, essential services, and the resources they need to age with dignity, security, and peace of mind.

At Central Arizona Aging, we recognize that collaboration, community engagement, and advocacy play an important role in addressing the needs of older adults. We are proud to see our leadership team participating in meaningful conversations that bring attention to the issues affecting seniors throughout Arizona.

Together, we can continue working toward communities where older adults are valued, respected, and supported at every stage of aging. 💙
