Palo Verde Elementary Palo Verde Elementary School is the best kept secret of CG! These Jaguars are filled with a passion. Welcome to Palo Verde, home of the Jaguars!

Palo Verde Elementary School has a long and rich history. Originally built in 1952 and remodeled in 1996, our school has been an integral part of the Casa Grande Elementary School District, evolving to meet the needs of our changing community and world. Many of our students’ parents and grandparents attended Palo Verde and our school’s culture is steeped in traditions that are very important to our 460 students and their families. Our staff works closely with the District Office and staff from the other elementary schools to align our instructional programs and our teachers collaborate regularly to meet the needs of all students and their families. In addition to academics, the staff and community also focus on the whole child. We have numerous choral, instrumental, physical educational activities, and an incredible assortment of after school activities including Legos, Spanish instruction, Strings, Yearbook, newspaper, and sports designed to help develop creative and athletic skills here at school. All of our students feed into Villago Middle School. We have a diverse student body. The variety of cultural backgrounds strengthens our school and provides our students with many opportunities to learn from each other. Just like our school song says, it’s always a “great day to be at Palo Verde”!

This week we had our first PBIS Paw Pride Assembly of the year. All classes gathered to celebrate classes awarded traveling trophies for demonstrating positive behavior during specials, in the cafeteria, and even on the bus! We also introduced our student council officers and held an "Angry Bird" competition between grade levels.

Thank you to all who visited our third grade zoo last week!

The 3rd grade students have been learning about animal classification. They learned how taxonomists classify animals and how it all begins with the vertebrae. They then discussed animal's characteristics, which lead to their interest in certain animals and their habitats. They researched information and wrote a report. The 3rd Grade Zoo was their opportunity to share their research on their chosen animal. They each completed a research report and created a diorama about their animal and it's habitat.
