The Cascade Police Department is accepting applications for police officer. There is no current deadline to apply. The right applicant will fill a vacancy created by an upcoming retirement. Entry level applicants and certified officers are both encouraged to apply. College degree preferred but not required. CPD offers a great work environment from the top down and we have significant community support. We currently have three sworn full-time officers, as well as part-time and reserve positions. We emphasize involvement and interaction within the community and schools. We offer great benefits and a flexible schedule that most departments can’t offer. We offer ample training opportunities and encourage you to better yourself and your career. We provide quality uniforms/equipment and City leadership has begun the process of creating a new public safety campus for all of Cascade’s first responders.

We serve an active and vibrant community that takes pride in being a clean, safe, and desirable place to live and work. Our job is to make it even better, so we are seeking an officer with a proactive work ethic who also places a priority on community involvement.

COMMUNITY REMINDER ABOUT CASCADE ANIMAL ORDINANCES
Cascade Police have recently responded to multiple calls about dogs escaping fenced yards, defeating electronic fences, and attacking/biting people and other dogs. When responding to these calls, we've learned of prior incidents where attacks by the same animal had gone unreported. This limits our ability to properly address future incidents. Please share this, spread the word, and help keep our community safe.
These descriptions are only summaries……please research the ordinance section for complete content and language.
4-1-1 “AT LARGE” – if an animal is off the premises of the owner, it must be under the control of a competent person. There is no “leash law” in Cascade, but if you’re not using a leash, your dog must be “at heel” and obedient to commands. It is your responsibility to ensure that your dog can’t jump the fence, break the chain, or “ride the lighting” well enough to defeat their electronic collar when you aren’t looking.
4-1-9 “KEEPING A VICIOUS ANIMAL” –an animal that has bitten or attacked a person without provocation, or when an animal has a propensity to attack or bite people or animals and the owner knows it or at least should know it. Not every bite means your dog is vicious. Dogs are dogs and each situation is different. We’ll show up, ask some questions, and determine if a bite was provoked or not. This is a good thing. If your dog bites someone snooping around your property at night with a crowbar and a flashlight, we’ll probably give your dog a treat and then arrest the person for trespassing and possession of burglar’s tools.
4-1-14 “OWNER’S DUTY” – you are required by law to report an animal bite to a local health or law enforcement official. If you own the dog that bit someone, own the leg that was bitten, or saw it happen from across the street, you are legally required to report it.

WE NEED YOUR HELP - PLEASE READ: Due to the unprecedented storms down south, Cascade Municipal Utilities has been generating electricity to be placed back on the grid since 4pm on Friday. Now we need YOUR help. We have been asked to have our customers reduce any electric load possible (until further notice). Suggestions to reduce load include: turn off any ourdoor/indoor lights not needed, unplug any unused/not needed items, limit use of electic heaters that aren't absolutely necessary, do not dry laundry, etc. We are doing all that we can to try and keep electricy on for everyone during this weather event. We will keep you updated as the situation changes. We THANK YOU for your support.
