CDC offers preschool and free developmental screenings for children ages 0-5, including hearing and vision, thinking and reasoning skills, communication skills and physical movement skills. We also provide audiology, nutrition, and therapy services to children ages 0-21:

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our open house! 💙

Seeing so many familiar and new faces walk through our new CDC expansion meant the world to us. This new classroom and eight new offices aren't just physical structures, they exist because this community showed up, brick by brick and gift by gift. A space large enough for all of our staff to attend meetings and trainings all together, built by people who believe in what we're doing here. Whether you gave a single dollar, a major leadership gift, or came out to celebrate with us, you made this possible.

This space belongs to our children, our families, and to all of you. If you missed the open house, our doors are always open, come by and see what your generosity built!

🚒💙 Community Helpers at CDC! 🚌👮‍♂️

Our Robin, Monkey, Puppy, Owl, Kitten, and Panda rooms have been busy learning about the amazing people who help our community every day!

A big thank-you to Wyoming Machinery Company, the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office, our local firefighters, and the Child Development Center Bus for taking the time to visit our preschoolers and share what you do!

We love giving our little learners hands-on opportunities to explore, ask questions, and learn about the people who make our community special. Thank you for being part of the fun! ❤️

What is early childhood development? At the Child Development Center in Casper, we define it as everything that happens in a child's brain, body, and behavior from birth to age five, the fastest window of growth a person will ever experience.

90% of brain development happens before age 3. That means the everyday moments (reading a board book, stacking blocks, being talked to during a diaper change) are literally building the architecture of your child's brain.

This is the work we do every day at CDC: turning research on child development into real support for Wyoming families.

💙🦸‍♂️ Once a superhero, always a superhero. 🦸‍♂️💙

There are some little people who leave the biggest imprints on our hearts, and Davy Schulz will forever be one of those special people to us at the Child Development Center.

This past May, we were honored to recognize the Schulz family at our annual Art a La Carte fundraiser. Today, as we grieve the loss of sweet Davy, our entire CDC family came together dressed as superheroes to honor him, celebrate his incredible strength, and show our love for a little boy who meant so much to all of us.

Davy was so much more than a little boy who walked through our doors. He was a part of our CDC family. He touched the hearts of our teachers, therapists, staff, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. While our hearts are broken for his family, we are so grateful for the time we shared with him and the love, joy, and memories he leaves behind.

Today, we wore our superhero capes in honor of Davy, but the truth is, he was the superhero all along. His strength, his courage, and the love surrounding him will stay with us always.

To the Schulz family, please know that you are surrounded by so much love. We hold you close in our hearts and are sending you comfort, strength, and the biggest hugs during this incredibly difficult time.

Fly high, sweet Davy. 💙 You will always be a part of our CDC family, and you will never be forgotten. 🦸‍♂️✨

Fire Prevention Week starts today, and it's the perfect reminder to talk fire safety at home, not just at the center.

At CDC, our classrooms practice fire drills regularly so kids know exactly what to do, calmly and confidently. You can build that same confidence at home with two simple things: a working smoke detector on every level of your house and a practiced escape plan your kids can walk through with you.

A few tips our educators use with little ones:
✅ Make the escape plan a game, not a scary conversation
✅ Pick a family meeting spot outside and name it together ("the big tree," "Grandma's mailbox")
✅ Practice it twice a year, especially after clocks change

Small steps now build lifelong safety habits. That's development in action too.

Back to school season has parents wondering about a lot of things.

A free developmental screening at CDC answers that question in about 30 minutes, and it's not just a search for problems. It's a chance to see everything your child is doing right.

Ages 0 to 5. Completely free. Genuinely fun for kids.

Schedule yours at cdccasper.org/screenings or call (307) 235-5097.

A new school year is a good time to notice things. Maybe it's a speech pattern that hasn't quite clicked, a reading struggle that's more than just "getting used to it," or a skill that seems behind where it should be.

CDC+ offers therapy services, reading coaching, and audiology support built to catch these things early, when catching them early actually matters. If something's on your radar, don't wait for it to become a bigger conversation later.
