What a fun turnout for our Upcycled Craft Night this past Tuesday at the Howard Branch! Attendees rolled up their sleeves and transformed books into rustic paper pumpkins just in time for fall.

Everyone walked away with a unique piece of autumn decor and a little inspiration for repurposing old pages. Huge thanks to everyone who joined in on the fun.

Mark your calendar for November 10th at 5:30. We are doing Book Page Wreaths at the Howard Branch.

Last Saturday afternoon, crafters gathered at the Edwardsburg Branch to build and decorate their own haunted houses. All the pieces were supplied and precut using a Cricut. There were many pieces to this project but everyone did a great job assembling them together.

Now they can display them in their homes for the Halloween season.

Head over to the Main Branch to check out our Banned Books Week display!

Each book on display has been challenged, lobbied against, or targeted for removal at some point, either by individual readers or driven by national campaigns.

You will also find censorship data from the American Library Association (ALA) and cards featuring other challenged titles, detailing why those books faced pushback.

Banned Books Week is a defense of free expression. When a book is removed or restricted, a small group or individual decides what an entire community can read, watch, or think. It defends the idea that choice belongs to the individual reader and parent, not to censors.
