We are thrilled to welcome everyone to our Annual Chili and Salsa Cook-Off THIS Saturday! Get ready for a fun-filled day of delicious flavors, friendly competition, and a fantastic community event!

Vendors may begin setting up at 6 am and vehicles MUST be off the square no later than 7:30 am. We also ask that vendors do not park their vehicles on West Street between 6th and 7th Street as well as on 7th Street between Townsend and West St. Booths open at 8am.

The Cassville Fire Protection District is excited to host Under Fire Training Solutions, LLC for an evening of advanced firefighter training!

BEYOND THE BASICS
Advanced Fire Chemistry, Behavior, and Dynamics

This course will take firefighters beyond the fundamentals and provide a deeper understanding of fire behavior and the science behind the decisions we make on the fireground.

Topics include:
🚒 Fire ignition, growth, and development
🔥 Heat transfer, heat flux, and flashover
💨 Ventilation, air entrainment, and flow paths
🔥 Recognizing hostile fire events
💧 The importance of early water application
🚒 Modern fire attack strategies and tactics

PLEASE USE CAUTION IF BURNING TODAY!

With winds expected around 10–15 mph and humidity in the 30% range, conditions can allow fires to spread quickly.

If you plan to burn today, please take these precautions:

Call Barry County Emergency Services at 417-847-4911 to report your burn.

Clear a substantial area around the burn. Do not burn within 50ft of a structure.

Have a reliable water source readily available.

Ensure a capable individual stays with the fire until it is completely extinguished.

🎃👻 TRICK OR TREAT DRIVE-THRU 2026! 🚒🍬

Cassville Fire District is excited to invite everyone to our annual Trick or Treat Drive-Thru! Bring the kids out for a fun and safe Halloween evening with your local firefighters! 🎃🚒

📅 Date: Saturday, October 31, 2026
⏰ Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
📍 Location: Station 1 on Sale Barn Road in Cassville

👻 Dress up in your favorite Halloween costumes, bring your trick-or-treat bags, and drive through for some Halloween fun!

🚗 For everyone’s safety, please remain inside your vehicle throughout the event.

Outside fire conditions today are currently moderate to high, increasing the potential for fires to spread and become difficult to control. We ask everyone to use caution when conducting any outdoor burning.

📞 Planning to burn? Call 417-847-4911 to notify Barry County Emergency Services before starting your burn.

🧯 Follow these safe burning practices:

✅ Never leave a fire unattended. Ensure a capable, responsible individual remains with the fire at all times.

✅ Clear the area. Remove dry grass, leaves, brush, and other combustible materials from a significant area around your burn pile.

✅ Have water readily available. Keep a dependable water source and any necessary tools nearby to control the fire if needed.

✅ Stay until the fire is completely extinguished. Make sure all embers, coals, and hot spots are fully out before leaving the area.

⚠️ Remember: Weather and wind conditions can change quickly, allowing a small fire to spread beyond your control. If conditions are too dry or windy, postpone your burn.
