25 years later, we will never forget.

Today, we honor the 343 selfless FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice, running into the towers to save innocent lives. We honor the 2,977 civilians whose lives were taken that day, along with the 23 NYPD officers, 37 Port Authority Police officers, 12 officers from other agencies, and 8 paramedics and EMTs who made the ultimate sacrifice.
We also honor the countless first responders who have since lost their lives to 9/11-related illnesses, a lasting reminder of the sacrifices that continued long after that day.
We remember their courage. We honor their sacrifice. We will never forget.

Castella-Dunsmuir Fire responded to assist the U.S. Forest Service with the Flume Fire, a vegetation fire along northbound Interstate 5 near Flume Creek.

Thanks to a fast and coordinated response, crews were able to quickly stop the forward progress of the fire and keep it from becoming a larger incident. It was a strong reminder of how important teamwork and good working relationships are when multiple agencies come together during an emergency.

We are fortunate to work alongside the U.S. Forest Service - Shasta-Trinity National Forest,Shasta-Trinity National Forest - Fire & Aviation Management , Caltrans District 2, and CHP - Mount Shasta during the Flume Fire. It made for a smooth response and a quick stop, and we truly appreciate everyone who helped get the job done safely.
