🚴‍♀️The 3rd annual Genesee Valley greenway Cycle challenge was a success! Individual riders and family groups alike showed up to support one another throughout this 10-mile challenge.

🐎It began in Canawaugus Park and ended at the Avon Driving Park where there was a celebration with food, local businesses and a horse demonstration!

🙏A huge thank you to our local exhibitors, sponsors, park staff, and the Friends of the Genesee Valley Greenway-FOGVG for making this an amazing event!

🥾 Curious to try a new-to-you section of the 90 plus mile Greenway? But don’t want to hike it as a there and back? Section sampler group hikes provide carpooling, plus a guide to point out the things you might otherwise miss along the multi-use trail. These hikes meet two or three times a month, alternating between the northern and southern end of the Greenway.

🚲 Just a reminder, there is still time to join in on the fun! Register today for the 10-mile, family-friendly Greenway Cycle Challenge on Saturday, September 12th, 2026, from 10 am to 2 pm!

📍 The race, which begins in Scottsville's Canawaugus Park and ends at the Avon Driving Park, is held on the Genesee Valley Greenway and features a number of outdoor educational stops.

⚠️***UPDATE*** The York trail is now open!!! Thank you for your patience while repairs were being made.

🚧Starting Monday, August 24th, the York Landing Parking Area and the trail north for about a mile from the lot (mile markers 23-24) will be closed until September 21st, 2026, for vital repairs.

🚫PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE PARKING LOT EVEN IF YOU PLAN TO HEAD SOUTH. WE WILL BE RECEIVING MATERIAL THROUGHOUT THE NEXT 4 WEEKS.

🚗Please do not park on the road or in front of the barricades.
