It is part of New York's Capital Region, about 10 miles southeast of downtown Albany. Under the Village of Castleton-on-Hudson social media policy, the Village reserves the right to remove comments (or posts) that: are not topically related to the particular social medium article being commented upon; are in support of or opposition to political campaigns; contain sexual or profane language, content or links; promote, foster, or perpetuate discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation; are demeaning, threatening, harassing or bullying; are solicitations of commerce unless highlighting specials or newsworthy events of businesses and organizations within or supporting the Village; conduct or encouragement of illegal activity; are confidential or Village personnel matters; contain information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems; or contain content that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party.
