Yesterday our VTSP SAR was asked by OPD to run a joint search for Amy Hillyard who has been missing since March of this year. Our team was ready for action with 10 members responding to the call alongside OPD's Officers and their drone team. As a reminder, Amy Hillyard has been missing since March 25th and anyone with information that can aid investigators is urged to call the Oakland Police Department’s missing persons division at (510) 238-3641.

Great in-person meeting today at Ardenwood. Our Naturalist Alex Kwon gave us a history of the park, then Sgt. Castaneda talked about issues in the parks, followed up by Captain Simpson from the fire department talking about cool happenings in fire services. The VTSP also got a personal tour of the Patterson House. Thanks to everyone who came out.

Our very own, Amelia Marshall received the Volunteer of the Year award from CARPD (California Association of Recreation and Park Districts) in May but our Board of Directors acknowledged this great achievement at the Board Meeting yesterday! Congratulations again Amelia for all of your hard work with the VTSP these past 25 years, but also your volunteerism with the archives and so many other programs that help our District! We appreciate you. Also congrats to Ned and Carl who were the 2022 recipients (pictured here).
