🍂❤️ A WEEK OF LEARNING, FRIENDSHIP & COMMUNITY ADVENTURES AT CJA’S PLACE! ❤️🍂

Our community adventures included a visit to the SAS Shoe Store & General Store in San Antonio, where we enjoyed popcorn, sodas, and festive Halloween decorations! 🎃🍿

Throughout the week, we stayed busy with visits to the library, puzzles, walks at the park, arts and crafts, and fun activities at the center. We even enjoyed some relaxation time with a movie, popcorn, and hot chocolate! 🧩🎨☕

🛍️ FRIDAY WAS ALL ABOUT THRIFTING & DISCOVERING HIDDEN TREASURES! 🛍️

Our day was filled with shopping, exploring, and practicing valuable everyday life skills!

We started at The Blessing Closet in Devine, a wonderful community resource. A special THANK YOU to the amazing ladies behind this beautiful ministry for all they do to serve others! ❤️🙏

Next, we stopped at Walmart, where we practiced important life skills such as scanning items, making purchases, handling money, and building confidence.

We then enjoyed a lovely picnic lunch at Hondo City Park before continuing our treasure hunt at Firehouse Vintage in Hondo, where we explored beautiful antiques, unique finds, and hidden treasures!

Our thrifting adventures also included visits to the Devine Hospice Thrift Store and House of Treasures Thrift Store in Castroville. So many wonderful places to explore and treasures to discover! 🛍️

Whether we’re shopping, exploring our community, creating art, or simply enjoying time together, our goal is to encourage independence, build confidence, strengthen social connections, and create lasting friendships.

🌟 A Week of Fun, Friendship & Learning at CJA’s Place! 🌟

We started our week getting our steps in at Ingram Park Mall! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ All the besties were together, enjoying some exercise and quality time!

We also enjoyed a walk at the park and had some fun playing badminton! 🏸

🥞 We worked on our cooking skills by learning how to make pancakes! We also enjoyed playing games, sharing laughs, and spending time together.

🎃 And to wrap up our week, Friday was all about creativity as everyone had a wonderful time painting their very own pumpkins!

At CJA’s Place, every activity is an opportunity to build life skills, encourage independence, stay active, and create lasting friendships! ❤️

💙💛 OUT & ABOUT WITH OUR BESTIES! 💙💛

We started our week getting our steps in at La Cantera Mall, followed by lunch at KFC, chosen by one of our Besties!

Our Besties also practiced shopping and scanning items at Walmart, helped prepare candy bags, and participated in National Night Out!

A visit to the library included a fun photo opportunity with a Dallas Cowboy skeleton! 🏈 We also enjoyed lunch at the park and another stop at Walmart.

We wrapped up our week at the Trunk-or-Treat in Poteet with Country Paradise Living, LLC! It’s always fun getting together with our other Besties! 💛 We ended our afternoon with a sweet treat at Dairy Queen in Castroville! 🍦

And of course, our time at the center included puzzles, arts and crafts, games, and other activities!

We wrapped up September and welcomed October with another fun and busy week with our Besties! 🍂

📚 We enjoyed an outing to the library with puzzle time and computer time.
🎣 We went fishing, got our fishing licenses, and even had a Bestie give worm-hooking a try! 🪱😊
🚶‍♀️ And we ended the week getting in some walking steps at the mall and exploring a fun shop filled with snacks and treats. 🌎🍬

Another beautiful week of getting out in the community, trying new things, and spending time together. 💙💛

💙💛 Shopping, creating, dancing, and spending time with friends—that’s what our days are all about at CJA’s Place!

We kicked things off with a trip to Five Below, a Bestie favorite! 🛍️ One of our Besties especially loves finding goodies for her junk journal. We also got some steps in while we were out and about. 👟

💎 Wednesday was Jewelry Making Day! Our Besties enjoyed creating their own jewelry. A special thank you to my niece Lucero, our jewelry designer for the day, for providing all the supplies and helping make it such a fun activity! 🩷

🤠 Friday was Dolly Day! We danced to 9 to 5, made more bracelets, and even attempted a cuppa cuppa cuppa in the microwave. 😂 It didn’t quite turn out as planned, but we had fun trying!

We also did a little volunteer work 💙 Alexander has been fascinated with using a grabber tool and wanted to put it to work, so he picked up the little bit of debris he found around our building area. Not much to pick up—but he sure enjoyed using his grabber and lending a helping hand! 😊👏

Add in some puzzles, crafts, laughter, and good conversation, and it was time well spent with our Besties. 🧩🎨💙💛

Community outings, creativity, friendships, helping out, and making memories together.

💙💛 FRI-YAY! We made some memories this week! 💛💙

We kicked things off Monday at Country Paradise Living in Poteet for an ’80s Glow-in-the-Dark Activity 🌟—bowling, ring toss, karaoke, music, dancing, lunch, and lots of fun with our Besties!

🎳 Wednesday took us to Main Event in San Antonio for some bowling, and today we wrapped up the week with crafts at the center and lunch at Whataburger—one of our Besties’ monthly picks! 🍔🎨

We’re also thankful for visits from our case specialists this week.

Plus we’re excited that CJA’s Place, LLC is now a member of our local Chamber of Commerce! 💙

🇺🇸💙 A Week of Community, Connection & Remembrance 💛🇺🇸

We had a busy week at CJA’s Place! We started our week together on Labor Day with activities at the center and enjoyed some great community outings throughout the week.

On Wednesday, we headed to Hondo, Texas, and visited Workforce Solutions to learn more about their resource center.

🇺🇸 Today, in recognition of the 25th anniversary of September 11th, we visited the San Antonio 9/11 Memorial at New Life Christian Center.

We ended our day with a little treat—milkshakes at our local Whataburger! 🥤😊

We’ve been busy enjoying outings, birthday celebration with our besties at Country Paradise Living, LLC Serving Special needs in our Community ,learning new skills, getting our steps in, and spending time together! 🛍️🎉🧼📚🌳
