📸 Picture overload and some tired folks, but what a rewarding day spent with family and friends!

Making apple butter is definitely a lot of hard work, but it’s all worth it knowing it will put a little money in the bank for UCCVFD. We can’t thank everyone enough who helped make today possible. There were way too many people to list individually, but you all know who you are!

From donating food and jars, giving your time, donating money, helping spread the word and sell it, or simply showing up and putting in the work — UCCVFD THANKS YOU! ❤️

We ended up with right around 300 pints to sell! I know quite a few have already been spoken for, and we expect them to go pretty fast.

Sugar is in…. Time to boil it for an hour then add the cinnamon

With the support of our community, apple butter is always a great fundraiser for the department, and this year is already shaping up to be another great one. A huge thank-you goes out to our members and their families who have donated jars, food, supplies, and so much more to help make this happen.

We truly appreciate everyone who stops by, lends a hand, makes a purchase, or simply comes out to visit. Your support means a lot to our department and helps us continue serving our community.

It’s that time of year!!! Tomorrow we will be doing applebutter.

Large brushfire on Sinking Creek mountain on the 621 side. No structures are threatened at this time. Big thanks to Stations 3 and 4 for assisting us. And hats off to U.S. Forestry and Va Dept of Forestry for such a quick response with manpower, dozers, and a helicopter for water drops. Please use caution driving in the area as they will have many big trucks coming and going for a few days.
