At approximately 6:30 a.m., Bonnie Ratliff from our Environmental Services Department captured this amazing view of what appears to be a SpaceX rocket plume lighting up the early morning sky!

It’s International Infection Prevention Week, a great reminder that preventing the spread of illness is something we can all help with!

At Catawba Hospital, infection prevention is a team effort. From proper hand hygiene and cleaning practices to vaccinations, education, and following infection-control precautions, everyday actions help protect our patients, staff, visitors, and community.

As we head into cold and flu season, remember the basics: wash your hands, cover your cough, stay home when you’re sick, and take steps to protect yourself and those around you.

We also want to recognize the employees who help lead infection prevention efforts at Catawba and those throughout the hospital who put those practices into action every day. 💙
