Supporting our Junior Firefighters! 1st Assistant Chief John Purnell and FF/EMT Jaxson Purnell stopped to grab a picture with our JR FFs at the Southern Columbia Football game Saturday evening. We have several members involved with the team, cheer, and band. We're happy to see them succeed at a high level in what they do! Our Tigers won 61-8 over the Lewisburg Green Dragons in Milton.

We would like to thank Scattered Acres Farms for hosting a grain bin rescue class and demonstration this past Wednesday. Nationwide and KMA Insurance Group, LLC teamed up to donate The Great Wall of Rescue, which is a grain bin rescue tool. They also supplied the training from the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety and refreshments for the attendees. There was representation from the PA Farm Bureau and local farm Co-op's as well. Also in attendance were members from Aristes Fire Company #1, Catawissa Fire Company, Elysburg Fire Department, Kulpmont Fire Department, and Roaring Creek Valley QRS. This tool will be an invaluable resource not only for the Roaring Creek Valley, but for other neighboring departments. There were over 50 people present for the class which is amazing! We thank you all again for the continued support and ability to support our community in the safest ways possible!

At this moment, 8:46 a.m., on 9/11/01, the North Tower of the World Trade Center was struck. The beginning of a harrowing day in US history....

2,977 souls lost between World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA. Those old enough to remember know exactly where they were on that day. 25 years on. A quarter of a century. They are not forgotten! 🇺🇸

How about another round of applause for these fine folks that help our cause year in and out?

Ponduce Farms is always there, to lend a helping hand and fill a hungry belly, any chance they can for us. They graciously donated the potatoes for this years Carnival. They also offered their venue for our 100th Anniversary dinner nearly two years ago!

Also, the man, myth, and legend in Woody Heaps! Woody, the Heaps family, and everyone at Woodys Place Diner and Coffee House extends their support each year, and are a big help with our Chicken BBQ at Catawissa Celebrates. Did you know, Woody is a fire guy too? We're sure he's got some on-scene stories from over the years! 😂

We presented each with a plaque, representing our appreciation for them. Thanks for your support! Please continue to support our local businesses!

THANKFUL! That may sound odd after a fire, but hear us out. Yesterday around 4:15pm, our station was requested for a possible house fire on Todd Manor Drive in Locust Township. Soon after, multiple calls were reported to the East Central Communications Center. We're THANKFUL this fire had a lot of good things going for it's quick extinguishment. We're THANKFUL this fire was in close proximity to our Station, across the street essentially. We're THANKFUL that some of our volunteers were already at the station, or nearby, which quickened the response. We're THANKFUL for the quick response of our 2nd Alarm mutual aid companies, that had our back had this fire extended into the home. We're THANKFUL to report there were no injuries!
