READ ME: Matrix by Lauren Groff. From the threads of a medieval nun’s life–her ambition, her triumph, her hubris–Groff weaves a stunning web of female desire, magic, and power. Told with burnished prose and taking up in unlit corners, Matrix is an exceptional story of a woman in place and out of time.
