Maryland Representative Jamie Raskin officially introduced groundbreaking legislation designed to permanently lock Trump’s authoritarian paper trail into the historic record: the "Preserving and Remembering the History of Trump and other Tyrants Act."
This aggressive measure commands the prestigious Smithsonian Institution to gather, preserve, and display key artifacts documenting the sharp rise of governmental propaganda, deep-seated corruption, and unchecked authoritarian tactics throughout the Trump presidencies. The target? Creating a permanent, unvarnished exhibition right inside the National Museum of American History.
The curated collection isn't pulling any punches. Under Raskin's proposal, the Smithsonian will archive:
• Authoritarian-style banners featuring Trump’s face previously hung outside federal agency headquarters.
• High-resolution media footage, archival photos, and news documentation capturing key administrative moves.
• Powerful personal stories and testimonies from everyday Americans who actively resisted government overreach.
This bold legislative push comes as a direct counter strike against the Trump-led Department of the Interior, which recently forced intimidating warning signs outside the National Museum of American History. Those signs explicitly caution public visitors against the "personal, radical ideologies" of professional museum curators.
Raskin’s bill hits back hard: it orders the National Park Service to immediately strip away any political signage erected around the museum that lacks explicit Congressional approval.
"We must study this corrupt President's actions," declared Representative Raskin, emphasizing the urgency of protecting institutional truth, "and allow the public to learn about the numerous tools he deployed while attempting to remake American history in his own image."
