Alexis Daynes is the Impact Athlete of the week for this week for her role in the Girls Cross Country teams 4th place overall finish. Alexis is a joy to watch run on the course as she patiently paces herself throughout the race staying towards the back of the pack until the end of the race when she utilizes her sprinting kick at the end to pass several runners at the end of the race. She does an outstanding job pacing her teammates and finished 30th overall to help the Reds to the 4th place spot in the state. Congratulations Alexis!!

Kaycee Adams is this weeks teammate of the week. Kaycee and the Girls Volleyball team took 5th place at the 4A state tournament this week with an impressive 3-1 record. Focusing on Giving All and Taking Nothing this week, Kaycee has been a great teammate all season long and her impact was felt whether she was on the court on the sideline cheering on the team.

Coach Anglin had this to say about Kaycee; Kaycee plays her role on the team humbly and without tons of recognition. Her job is to block the opponents big hitter and get ready to be offensive. She makes an impact across the front row in big ways. Her attack is crucial when the game plan requires us to spread our offense. She is always coachable and never asks for praise. Kaycee is an awesome teammate that gives her all and expects nothing in return.

Congratulations Kaycee!!

This Weeks Shows Respect Teammate of the Week is Z (Logann) Andrews. Logann has been an integral part of the Reds Volleyball team that brought home the Region 9 Championship this last week after defeating the Snow Canyon Warriors to close out the Season. Coach Nicole Anglin had this to say about Z.

Z is such a respectful teammate. She takes time to understand how her teammates play and respects that every individual on the team has their own style of play and personality when it comes to intensity. She is always speaking to her teammates with respect even when competition is high in practice. She is respectful to the coaches and what they ask of the team during practices and game time decisions.

Congratulations Z!!!

The Cedar Reds picked up a First Round Road win at North Sanpete on Friday afternoon. The Reds started quickly scoring on their first offensive play of the game and never looked back from there. The Hawks started with the ball and the Reds defense held the Hawks to a 3 and out and got the ball for their first drive. QB C**t Kelling found a streaking Hunter Burgess behind the defense for a 93 yard touchdown to start the scoring on the afternoon. The Reds held the Hawks again defensively and the Reds used a methodical drive down the field to get to the 3 yard line at the end of the 1st quarter. A 4th down play from the 3 yielded the Reds 2nd TD of the half on a contested catch by Ryker Janes for a 14-0 lead. The Hawks used some trickery to score a TD on a double reverse flea flicker pass to get the lead down to 14-7. Late in the 2nd quarter C**t Kelling found the endzone behind the effort from the offensive line and took a 21-7 lead into the locker room.

The offense picked up where they left off driving down the field to start the 3rd quarter and Braxton DeMille found the end zone moving the Reds to a 27-7 lead. The Hawks answered on the next drive to get to 27-14, but the Reds offense kept churning out big plays offensively and DeMille found the end zone again moving the lead back to 20 points for a 34-14 advantage. The Reds forced a punt and Hunter Burgess took the punt 80 yards for a punt return TD and a 41-14 lead. Another stop and a Cody Stevensen FG from 26 yards out built the lead to 44-14. The Hawks would return the kickoff for a score and failed the 2 point conversion. The Reds would recover an onside kick and ran the clock out for the 44-20 win. Up next the Reds will head to Morgan to take on the Trojans in the state Quarterfinals!! Way to go Reds!!
