🚁 CareFlite Landing

Yesterday's CHPD PACT Teen Summit ended with an exciting CareFlite landing demonstration alongside the Cedar Hill Fire. Teens had the opportunity to get an up-close look at the helicopter, learn about air medical operations, and hear how public safety and CareFlite work together to provide lifesaving care.

Happy Father’s Day from the Cedar Hill Fire Department!

Today, we honor and celebrate all fathers, father figures, and mentors who make a difference in the lives of their families and our community. Whether you’re teaching life lessons at home, cheering from the sidelines, or answering the call to serve others, your dedication, strength, and love leave a lasting impact.

We are especially grateful for the fathers within our department who balance the demands of the fire service while being role models for the next generation. Thank you for your sacrifice, leadership, and commitment both on and off duty.

🚒🛒 Community Risk Reduction in Action

Members of the Cedar Hill Police P.A.C.T Unit recently spent time at Walmart connecting with residents and sharing important public safety information.

Crews provided handouts, answered questions, and helped community members learn about Community Connect—a valuable tool that allows residents to share critical information with first responders before an emergency occurs.

Dallas County Health and Human Services has confirmed West Nile Virus positive mosquito samples in Cedar Hill and will treat the impacted areas shown in the map included in this post. Ground spraying for the impacted areas is scheduled on Thursday, June 18th, between 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting. Spraying will occur only in residential areas.

Remember to use the 4 D's to protect yourself from mosquito-borne illness:

✅Use DEET repellents
✅DRESS in long sleeves and pants
✅DRAIN standing water
✅Protect yourself during DUSK & DAWN

🚒🔥 Whew… what a week! 🔥🚒

The Cedar Hill Teen Fire Academy wrapped up an action-packed week of learning, teamwork, and unforgettable experiences! Our teens got hands-on exposure to CPR, search & rescue, extrication, door breaching, fire investigations, emergency management, and so much more.

Our goal was to introduce these young men and women to the incredible world of public safety and the fire service—and judging by their enthusiasm, determination, and teamwork, the future is bright!

A special thank you to Fire Marshal Tammie Cooper and Inspector Chris Holcomb for coordinating this exciting experience. Big thanks to DeSoto Fire Training Center for helping provide an outstanding training experience, and to Southwest Regional Dispatch Center for giving our students a behind-the-scenes look at 911 operations and the vital role dispatchers play in emergency response.

Who knows? We may be working alongside some of these future firefighters, dispatchers, and public safety professionals one day!

🚦 TRAFFIC UPDATE: Highway 67 has reopened and traffic is flowing normally

Southbound Highway 67 at Pleasant Run is temporarily shut down due to a fully involved vehicle fire.

Crews are on scene and expect to have the roadway reopened shortly. Please avoid the area if possible.

The CHFD Ambus has been deployed to Arlington to support our regional public safety partners during standby operations for the games.

While soccer fans from near and far gather to enjoy the action, our first responders are standing ready to assist in the event of an emergency.
