For generations, May's Island has stood at the heart of Cedar Rapids, connecting the east and west sides of our city and serving as a gathering place for our community.

The City is building on that history with planned improvements to the island, including more accessible walkways, landscaping, lighting, and spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Now, thanks to a major philanthropic gift from Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust in celebration of its 25th anniversary, those improvements will be complemented by a new sculpture park, bringing public art to one of our city's most recognizable spaces.

It's another way to honor the island's history while creating new opportunities for our community to come together.

🥰 Cuddling is safe! FIV is not spread through sharing food or water bowls, litter boxes, grooming, or simply being close to one another.

💊 FIV doesn't automatically mean medication. Many FIV+ cats don't need special daily medication simply because they have FIV.

🌟 Many remain healthy for years. Some FIV+ cats can remain symptom-free for much of their lives.
