CRHC staff had a great time this morning at the Gubernatorial Forum on Youth Mental Health, hosted by Mind Our Future Colorado.
At the Forum, Colorado gubernatorial candidates Senator Michael Bennet, State Senator Barb Kirkmeyer for Governor, and Attorney General Phil Weiser, discussed the mental health challenges facing Colorado's young people, and reinforced something we deeply believe: this issue matters in every part of our state. From urban schools to rural communities, kids and families need leaders who take youth mental health seriously.
Thank you to Mind Our Future Colorado, Children’s Hospital Colorado, and Healthier Colorado for bringing this conversation to the forefront!

ACTION ALERT: Protect Rural Healthcare in Colorado from Proposed Budget Cuts
On April 3, 2026, President Trump released his Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Budget Request, which includes billions of dollars of cuts that would strike hardest at the rural hospitals and clinics that tens of thousands of Coloradans depend on.
These cuts call for the elimination of bipartisan, fundamental, and long-standing rural health programs, including the State Office of Rural Health (SORH), the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program (FLEX), and the Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program (SHIP). These programs are essential to providing improvement, support, and technical assistance that is imperative to our rural communities.
Please click below to tell Colorado members of Congress to oppose these threats to our rural healthcare system. Share this alert with your staff, board, and community members. These cuts will impact us all.

CRHC's Internal Grant Opportunities for 2026 are now open!
Each year the Colorado Rural Health Center hosts two opportunities for funding for our rural members -- the Marva Jean Jackson (MJJ) Scholarship and the Seed Grant.
CRHC created the Marva Jean Jackson (MJJ) Rural Community Health Scholarships Program to encourage rural facilities and communities to develop or support local scholarship programs. The MJJ Scholarship is intended to provide a fund match to rural programs that support healthcare training and education for people from their community.
The Seed Grant is available for rural projects whose intent matches the mission of CRHC. Seed Grants are intended as “seed” money and should only be a portion of a new program or service.
Applications to both the MJJ Scholarship and the Seed Grant are open to CRHC members now through May 31st. Learn more and apply today: https://coruralhealth.org/crhcs-internal-grant-opportunities
