PARIS FIRE DEPARTMENT — FINAL CALL
Fire Dispatcher Crystal Buffington
End of Watch: September 9, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Paris Fire Department announces the passing of Fire Dispatcher Crystal Buffington, who answered her final call on September 9, 2026.
For 46 years, Crystal faithfully served the Paris Fire Department with selflessness, dedication, kindness, and unwavering honor.
Crystal was more than the voice on the other end of the radio.
For countless calls, she was the critical link between those asking for help and the firefighters responding to provide it.
She spent countless hours watching over our crews, keeping track of our members, and doing everything she could to make sure that when the call was over, we all made it home safely.
Crystal's service extended far beyond the dispatch desk. As a dedicated member of the Paris Fire Department Auxiliary, she was always there when needed — sharing her knowledge, her recipes, her time, and her kindness with generations of department members.
For 46 years, Crystal answered when Paris Fire called.
Crystal, thank you for your years of faithful service to the Paris Fire Department and to the community you loved.
Though your voice may no longer come across our radios, your presence will forever remain within this department and in the hearts of those who had the privilege of serving beside you.
Fire Dispatcher Crystal Buffington...

Your firefighters are accounted for.

We have the watch from here.
