Today, Sept. 8, is 988 Day – calling attention to the availability of the 988 Crisis Line.

Calling 988 is not just about su***de prevention. It’s for anyone experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Your reason to call is reason enough.

▶️If you are experiencing a mental health, su***de, or substance use crisis, or any other emotional distress, call or text 988 or chat online at 988lifeline.org/chat.◀️

This is also a good day to remind all of us to check in on the people we work with and care about. That doesn’t just mean reaching out to someone you think might be struggling through something.

It’s about making sure everyone knows they’re connected to others. That people care about them and that they have someone to share things with.

🥵 Take the heat seriously. Unseasonably hot temperatures are expected this entire week with highs near 100 degrees and heat index values in the triple digits. The abundant sunshine and warm nighttime lows will create a prolonged period of dangerous heat through at least Friday. Drink plenty of water and head inside promptly to cool down if you start feeling overheated.
