Such special moments in Ms. Shaw’s 1st grade classroom!💙✏️Today, families were invited in for a "publishing party." These parties give families a chance to see their children’s writing projects, celebrate their hard work, and leave positive affirmations for them to read!

We loved seeing these sweet moments of pride, encouragement, and connection between students and their families! At The LC, family engagement is such an important part of our school community, and opportunities like these remind us how meaningful it is to celebrate learning together.🫂

✨ To all our students: You are capable, you are loved, and you can do amazing things!

It’s cool to be calm!😎

LC Families - Join us on Tuesday, November 17 for our first Family Café of the school year, centered on Conscious Discipline!

You will learn more about the strategies we use at The LC to help students understand big feelings, regulate their bodies, and find their calm, plus simple ways to bring those strategies home.

And because learning is better with snacks… 🥟☕
Empanadas & coffee for adults, juice & animal crackers for kids, and childcare will be provided! We hope to see you there!💙

Our students are outperforming all three sending districts.📊

The 2026 RICAS results show that The Learning Community students in grades 3–8 achieved higher proficiency rates in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Math than students in Central Falls, Pawtucket, and Providence.

While we know there is still a lot of work to do to ensure every student is meeting grade-level expectations, these results are worth noting. 💚

We are proud of our students, teachers, and families for the hard work that makes this progress possible, and we're committed to building on it.

Hispanic Heritage Month Spotlight🌺

3rd grade students in Mrs. Johnson's class learned about José Hernández, a Mexican American engineer and astronaut whose journey is a story of perseverance and determination! Students watched a music video about his life and connected it to what they've been learning in ELA about identifying the central message of a story. A great way to celebrate Hispanic heritage while making meaningful connections across subjects!💫 👨‍🚀

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Conroy and Mrs. DeJesús's class have been making the most of our Outdoor Classroom! This week, students explored a new farm play set, built fairy houses, made music and danced, and went on nature walks!🧚‍♀️🎶

From imaginative play to exploring the natural world, our LC Outdoor Classroom gives students so many opportunities to be creative, curious, and connected to their surroundings. Just another reminder that learning doesn’t always happen inside four walls!🌳

Walk through our elementary hallways and you’ll see each class and grade level sharing what it means to be part of a school-family, along with their hopes and dreams for this school year and for their futures. 💭💛

This is an LC tradition that helps students see the connection between what they are doing today and where they hope to go tomorrow. It’s also a way for each class to build a shared identity, celebrate what makes them unique, and create a sense of unity and belonging.🤗

Hispanic Heritage Month Spotlight🌺

Our students are becoming researchers as they celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! Each 5th grade student in Ms. Genesis’ class randomly selected one of 21 Spanish-speaking countries to explore, learning more about its culture, history, traditions, geography, and people.

All 21 countries came together in a colorful hallway display celebrating the many cultures, stories, and traditions that make up the Spanish-speaking world.🌎

A great way to learn from one another and see just how much there is to celebrate during Hispanic Heritage Month! 💛
