Our 1946 Ford lafrance Engine was back in service today! During Unity's Homecoming parade this morning Centuria first responders were dispatched to a medical call in town. Making it through the parade first responders answered the call for assistance along with Rescue 1419. The ol truck is still serving the community 80 years and counting! Tomorrow afternoon, July 14, 2026, the Milltown Volunteer Fire Department and Centuria Fire & Rescue will be testing their outdoor warning sirens.

Maintenance has been performed on them and we are going to test their functionality after the maintenance.

What to know about the Village of Centuria and Village of Milltown outdoor warning sirens is how they are used and the different sounds they make.

Severe Weather Notification: The outdoor warning sirens will emit a steady sounding tone when a TORNADO WARNING has been issued for Polk County. This siren will be a constant sound for 3-5 minutes.

Fire Response Notification: The outdoor warning sirens will emit a two tone sound when a large emergency incident is requested from the fire department. This is to notify people around town that there will be emergency apparatus moving through the town and to be aware of the emergency response. This tone will have an on/off tone for 3-5 minutes. The siren will wind up and down and will not be a steady tone.

If you have any questions, please contact us. Please do not contact the Polk County Sheriff's Department when you hear the outdoor siren activation.

That's a wrap! Another Memory Days is in the books. We had another successful parade in town and our third parade weekend in a row! Hope everyone had a safe and fun weekend during the festivities! We want to thank all of our firefighters and first responders from all of our stations and of course their spouses and kids for volunteering their time washing, polishing and being around for the big weekends. We know there are many more pictures from Milltown Fisherman's party and Balsam lake freedom fest if you have any share them down in the comments we'd love to see them! Thank you!
