We hand painted the salon window-wanting to have an authentic aged look. It's not perfect, but not supposed to be. I'm still going to tweek on it, but so far I'm pleased😁

Finishing the front has been a struggle with time and weather. But, we'll get there! We still need to finish stone work and place stone around the door. Build a window frame for the grass that will go above the side window. Paint around windows above the door and finish painting trim/molding and column. All in good time 😁

👀Sneak Peek 👀
We are getting really close to moving the salon! It's bitter sweet. I have rented at my current Speakeasy Salon location for 6 years and love my neighbors there on Yoakum. Whitaker's Hardware has definitely been a lot of my entertainment and they have looked out for me. However, renting forever was never the end goal. We are greatly blessed to have gotten to purchase The Lentz Building from Dr. John Payne and I am ready to be in a place of my own. ❤️

We're getting really close to getting the salon open! It's crazy how far we've come since last August (2025)! This building has been a huge project for our family, but we've loved (almost) every minute of it and seeing the progress, although seemingly slow, has been very rewarding.

A neat find! This piano was one of the many items on display to sell by Mr Payne when we purchased the building and contents. Colton wanted it and took it home. He decided to clean the small piano and unscrewed the top off. Inside was a note. Written by, we assume, a young child. No name. No date. Where did it come from? And why was it sealed inside of the little play piano? Who would've ever found it if it wasn't for Colton being soo inquisitive?

Our view this evening from the upstairs of the Lentz Building ❤️
It was a special day! Dr. John(JD) Payne stopped by for a visit! We bought the building from him last August (2025) after it sat vacant since 2011. Today was the first time he's been back to see the changes. We've come a long way and still have a long way to go, but it's been a lot of fun bringing this beautiful building back to life❤️

We have running water at The Lentz Building! All new plumbing was necessary and we are happy to have this chapter of the project complete! Now, we need to do a little more work completing the HVAC, mudding, paint, flooring, lights, hook up bathroom fixtures... we're hoping to get the salon moved soon!!

Progress at The Lentz Building has been slow, but steady. I feel bad for complaining of the heat last August/September, because this cold weather has really hindered progress. We can't do certain things like stone work or painting because of the temps, but we'll eventually get there!! The Salon will be opening first, then we'll direct our attention on finishing the studio apartments upstairs, then last will be the arcade venue. The dump trailer is still getting filled with demo from the upstairs. We aren't doing a total gut of the upstairs like initially planned, but we're finding carpet layed over other carpet and 2 levels of drop ceiling in some areas...it has been A LOT to get out🤪 Luckily we have good young strong help for that "fun."
