Maneuverability training with some of our newest team members!

3037 is our largest truck, a 2003 E-One carrying 3000 gallons of water. That’s over 25,000lbs in water alone! This tender moves water to fire scenes without pressurized or static water sources.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family, friends, and colleagues of Chief Reed during this difficult time. We honor his service and extend our heartfelt sympathies to all who knew and served alongside him.

There are Leaders, Heroes, and Legends, Chief Reed was all three. We were lucky enough to Celebrate his retirement and unbelievable devotion to the Middlefield Fire Department for nearly 40 years just last week.

Today we mourn his loss. We are forever grateful for what Chief Reed represents! He was a proud and faithful leader who cared so deeply for the Men and Women of The Middlefield Fire Department and the people of his community. A proud U.S. Navy Veteran, and a prouder Father, Grandfather and Chief.

Chief Reed, your legacy will live on forever. We will take it from here boss!

Today’s crew knocking out supply hose testing on our first out engine this morning!

Our engine 3023 carries 1400 feet of 5 inch supply hose. This hose is used to deliver high volumes of water from a hydrant or from a relay pumper to the fire engine.

Each 100ft section weighs a little over 100lbs with no water and with water over 900lbs! This supply line holds approximately 1 gallon of water for every foot of hose.
