Seniors, you're invited to a free seminar on Medicare and Medicare Open Enrollment hosted by the Office of Congressman John Joyce on Tuesday, November 10 at 9 am at the Chambersburg Senior Activity Center.

Sharon Graham, Regional Administrator and Staff Director for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), will discuss the following key Medicare topics:
🔹When and how to enroll in Medicare
🔹De-mystifying Medicare Part A, B, C and D
🔹Medicare Advantage plans versus Medigap plans
🔹Identifying and fighting fraud
🔹What you need to know to make an educated choice on your health care coverage during Medicare open enrollment (October 15 – December 7)

All Franklin County residents age 60 and older are welcome to attend.

Our next Franklin County Senior Pantry Day on Monday, October 19 at the Greencastle Senior Activity Center.

From 10 am to 2 pm, ANY Franklin County resident age 60+ is welcome to receive a free food box of non-perishable items, fruits, vegetables and meats, thanks to our friends at Helping Hands and Caring Hearts. Hygiene products will also be available to those in need.

Please note: Due to grant funding requirements, only individuals aged 60 and older may attend this event. Caregivers accompanying a senior are welcome; however, other individuals under 60 will not be permitted in the building.

Are you a veteran? Staff from the Franklin County Veterans Affairs office will be visiting our Greencastle Senior Activity Center on Wednesday, October 21 to help any seniors who may have questions or need assistance through the VA office.

Staff will also be visiting the Chambersburg center in November and the Waynesboro center in December.

Open Enrollment is a time for Medicare-eligible adults to think about what benefits matter to them and compare available options for 2027.

Second Saturday is back!

Visit the Greencastle Senior Activity Center from 10 am to 2 pm Saturday, October 10 for this fun, fall-themed event. We'll have live music, bingo, door prizes and raffles, lunch and much more.

Our Second Saturdays are open to any Franklin County resident age 60 or older. If you are planning to join us for lunch, we suggest a $5 donation and RSVPing by October 9 so proper arrangements can be made.

Our eight senior activity centers are thriving hubs of connection, purpose, and community for older adults. Each month, 600–700 seniors come together for activities, exercise classes, celebrations, educational programs, and more.

For many, our centers feel like a second home. Seniors build friendships, find companionship, and even volunteer to support programs like Home Delivered Meals. In the first eight months of 2026 alone, volunteers contributed more than 11,000 hours to help uplift the community.
