Hey Champlin!

Today, the Champlin Police Department transported 126 pounds of unwanted and unused medications collected through our medication drop box to the Hennepin Energy Recovery Center (HERC) in Minneapolis for destruction!

That’s 126 pounds of medications kept out of the wrong hands and disposed of safely! 💙

♻️ Have medications you no longer need? Our medication drop box is available in the police department lobby Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.

Hey Champlin!

Found dog alert 🐾

This beautiful lady was found on Jersey Ave on Sunday, 10/11. She is a white Husky mix with no collar, no tag, and she is not chipped.

She has been transferred to Anoka PD where she will be well taken care of for the next few days.

Every 2 seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Taking a little time out of your day to donate can make a BIG difference for patients and families who need it most. ❤️

Appointments are encouraged, but we will take walk-ins if there is an available slot at the time of check in! Schedule using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or visit the Red Cross website and enter sponsor code CITYOFCHAMPLIN. Donors can save time by completing RapidPass before arriving for their appointment (online health history).

Tornado/Emergency Siren testing - NO EMERGENCY 📢

If you heard the tornado/emergency sirens sounding for an extended period this afternoon, there is no emergency.

Hennepin County Emergency Management was testing new software, which resulted in the extended siren activation.

No action is needed. We appreciate your understanding!

Serving up more than crime prevention! 🍔💙

Thank you to everyone who stopped by Culver’s last night to support the Champlin Police Crime Prevention Fund!

Members of the Fund traded in their usual roles for Culver’s aprons and helped deliver orders to customers throughout the evening. They even managed to put the Chief of Police to work making deliveries. Apparently rank doesn’t get you out of everything 😉

The Crime Prevention Fund provides equipment, programs, and resources that directly support the Champlin Police Department and our community. We’re incredibly grateful for their continued support and for everyone who came out to support them!

A big thank you to Culver’s of Champlin for hosting and putting our crew to work! 🍔🍟💙

The Champlin Police Crime Prevention Fund is partnering with Culver's for a fundraiser tomorrow, October 5, from 4-8pm.

A percentage of sales will benefit the Crime Prevention Fund, which has helped provide resources like our medication collection box, Bike Patrol equipment, drone, Naloxone, and support for our embedded social worker.

The Crime Prevention Fund supports our department throughout the year. If you'd like to learn more about the Fund or other ways to support it's work, visit champlincrimeprevention.org

What a great day! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Police & Fire Open House. We loved seeing so many families come out to explore, learn, meet our public safety teams, and enjoy the day with us!

A special thank you to everyone who helped make the event possible including the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office for the K9 demonstration and armored vehicle displays, Champlin Police Crime Prevention Fund , Allina Health EMS, and our food vendors Hot Box Foods and Anoka Meats & Sausage.

And of course, thank you to our Anoka-Champlin Fire Department , officers, staff, volunteers, and everyone who helped behind the scenes to make the day a success.

We’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to show up, connect, and support public safety. ♥️💙
