🚒 FIRE DEPARTMENT TRAINING THIS WEEKEND... SATURDAY & SUNDAY 🔥

Our firefighters will be training this weekend, so you may notice higher numbers of fire trucks and firefighters at both the firehouse and Nate’s Park.

🔥 Small training fires and smoke may be visible during some of our evolutions. Don’t worry — it’s us! These are controlled training activities.

🚗 If you’re driving through the area, please use extra caution: • Slow down and give firefighters and apparatus plenty of room. • Watch for personnel working near or along the roadway. • PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE OVER FIRE HOSES. Even if a hose appears flat or empty, do not cross it.

These training evolutions give our firefighters valuable hands-on practice so we’re better prepared when our community needs us.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and for helping us train safely! 🚒🔥

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation changed forever.

Today, we remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001. We remember the innocent people who went to work, boarded airplanes, and started an ordinary Tuesday morning never knowing they would not return home.

As firefighters, as a department, we especially remember the 343 members of the FDNY who answered the call and never came home. Who climbed up, while others were coming down, putting the lives of others before their own.

As first responders, we remember the first responders, EMS workers, recovery teams, survivors, and families who have carried the weight of that day for 25 years.

Today, we pause to remember them all.

May we continue to honor their legacy through our own service, our commitment to one another, and our willingness to answer when our community calls.

25 years later, we still remember.
We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Today, the Chandlerville Fire Department is excited to welcome firefighters from surrounding departments as we train together with the Illinois Fire Service Institute (IFSI)! 🚒🔥

Training will be taking place in and around the firehouse, including Orchard Street. For the safety of the firefighters participating, please avoid driving on Orchard Street as much as possible today. Cones will be in place to help limit traffic through the training area.

You may see additional fire apparatus, firefighters in gear, and training activity throughout the day — there is no emergency.

We appreciate our community helping us create a safe environment for firefighters from across the area to train, learn, and improve the skills we rely on to serve our communities.

Thank you for your cooperation and support! 🚒❤️
