Banned Books Week starts tonight at CHPL 🔥📚 We're kicking a week of Right to Read events TODAY at 6pm with a postcard writing campaign and snacks, followed by a live act from Daniel Ayers and Quinn Ray of The Hometown Holler podcast, a visit from our poet laureate , books for sale from Friends of Chapel Hill Public Library, and a screening of the Emmy-nominated documentary, The Librarians Film . Looking for a low-commitment way to give back to your community? Come to our monthly volunteer work days in Pritchard Park! 🌳

In September, our volunteers discovered a handsome old male eastern box turtle, an itty-bitty smooth earth snake, and a Chinese praying mantis while weeding and mulching. Join us October 17 to remove non-native and invasive species, plant native trees and perennials, and maintain natural areas in the park.
