With Election Day just one month away and early voting beginning October 15, I want to take a moment to thank everyone for the incredible support and encouragement you’ve shown throughout our campaign.
If you haven’t registered to vote yet, there’s still time. Please make voter registration a priority before the October 9 deadline. Then, make a plan to vote early beginning October 15, or join us at the polls on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3.

I also encourage everyone to take the time to educate yourself about the candidates and the offices on your ballot, all of them. While I am running unopposed for Sheriff after winning the primary, your vote still matters. You are making an important decision about who will serve as your Sheriff, and the Sheriff’s Office is one of the most important offices you will choose on your ballot.

Learn about the candidates, understand the responsibilities of each office, and make informed decisions about the leaders you want representing your community.

Every vote matters, and every choice on your ballot matters.

Early voting begins soon and there are many very important races on the ballot. As I have stressed in the past our local elections are very important, and you should educate yourself on the people running, what their platforms are, and what they hope to accomplish if elected. Because I won my Primary outright, I will once again be unopposed in the General elections in November. That doesn’t mean I won’t be working to gain your support and your vote. Running unopposed can be a good thing and it can be a bad thing. You cannot sit back and pretend you don’t have to work. If you do, you will be forgotten by the next time you have to seek reelection. You will be forgotten by some, new voters won’t have any idea what you have done in the past, others will resent the fact you didn’t work hard for their vote. You have to show the voting public it matters or you won’t matter to them.

With the November General Election right around the corner, please remember to research the folks running and make your decision based on facts not what you hear around the water cooler, read on a mailer laced with lies, or hear on the news. Find out for yourself. If you have a question you want answered, ask it of the person seeking the office, they will welcome the opportunity to talk to you, I know I will. All elections are important but our local elections are critical. Yet again I will be running unopposed in the General Election in November but this doesn’t mean your concerns are not important to me, quite the opposite. I’m grateful for the overwhelming support from each of you and I’m hear to listen to your concerns, even if you didn’t support me in the primary, especially if you didn’t support me in the primary. Orange County has many, many new residents and many of you only know what you heard during the primary. I welcome the opportunity to show you the great work being done by the dedicated men and women of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, The People’s Office.
