A huge thank you to our incredible PSF student board members, Matthew Rothman (ECHHS Senior) and Sofia Schilo (CHHS Senior)! Over the past two years, they have been outstanding leaders and role models, bringing thoughtful student perspectives and enthusiastic support to everything they do.
From helping with the annual PSF 5K, to packing roses for Love & Roses, to contributing at every PSF board meeting, their impact has been truly invaluable. We are so grateful for their dedication, leadership, and heart for our schools and community.
We wish Matthew and Sofia all the best as they begin their college journeys next year. We know they will continue to do amazing things!

Following a new state science standard rollout, students at Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools are thriving with hands-on learning thanks to crucial equipment donations from the PSF, UNC, Duke, and NIEHS.
By equipping classrooms with microscopes and probe sensors, local teachers are seeing students "light up" during labs. The proof is in the results: every single student group met or exceeded state expectations in eighth-grade science and biology.
We believe investing in our schools is an investment in a vibrant community and our future workforce. Read the full story of how local collaboration is driving student success in this Public Ed Works article.
