National POW/MIA Recognition Day – September 18, 2026

We remember the courage and sacrifice of those who endured captivity, those who never returned home, and the families who continue to carry their memory.

The POW/MIA flag carries a promise that we must never forget:

“You Are Not Forgotten.”

Today and every day, we honor that promise.

🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — We Will Never Forget

Twenty-five years ago, September 11th changed our lives and our nation forever.

Today, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the service members who answered our nation’s call in the years that followed.

May we never forget the courage, sacrifice, and unity that brought Americans together during one of our darkest days.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

September is Su***de Prevention Month.

At Geauga County Veterans Services, we believe in looking out for one another. Check your battle buddy. Make the call. Send the text. Stop by. Sometimes simply asking, “Are you okay?” can make a difference.

🇺🇸 Never leave a brother or sister behind.

If you or a Veteran you know is in crisis, dial 988, then press 1 to connect with the Veterans Crisis Line.

As part of our su***de prevention efforts, FREE gun locks are available in the lobby of the Geauga County Office — 1 per person. You do not need to be a Veteran to take one.

💜💙 Reach out. You are not alone.
