"You can recover, you can get better. And those folks are back in the workforce, raising families, (they are) community leaders. They go on to do great things. They don't let their issues define them and they overcome them. And that's what this month is all about."

September is Recovery Month. Our CEO Brad Story sits down with us to talk about how to celebrate and support the accomplishments of our fellow West Virginians who deal with addiction, while also supporting our organizations who make recovery possible every day.

Dr. Mehmet Oz’s remarks in the video below from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing's NatCon26 highlight the importance of Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) and a stronger, more coordinated behavioral healthcare system.

The Trump Administration has continued to support expansion of CCBHCs nationwide. In June, the Administration announced $223.1 million in funding for CCBHCs:

-$117.1 million to strengthen existing clinics

-$94 million to establish new clinics

-$12 million for state planning

West Virginia also was selected as one of 10 new states to participate in the CCBHC Medicaid Demonstration this year.

West Virginia now has an opportunity to strengthen access to care, crisis response, and coordination for the people and families across our state.
