Through Kanawha County Democratic Women (KCDW), we celebrate knowing Democratic women comprise a vital vector in our politics - genuine, relevant, hard-working, intelligent and forward-thinking. We bring a powerful strength in support of Democrats, especially women candidates and related causes, as well as collaborate with the Kanawha County Democratic Executive Committee (KCDEC), an elected governing body of the Democratic Party for and of Kanawha County, West Virginia. Our mission is to serve the community of Kanawha County as an all-volunteer organization, designed to acknowledge, promote, and unite Democratic women and supporters, in partnership with the West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women, Inc. (www.wvfdw.org), for the overall democratic success of Kanawha County, the State of West Virginia, and the United States Democratic Party. The Kanawha County Democratic Women’s organization boasts a proud and vibrant history of dedicated women of all ages, from all walks of life, working in tandem to promote the ideals of the Democratic Par-ty. Known as the Democratic “workhorse of the county”, nearly one thousand women have come together in Kanawha County through many decades, contributing strong work ethics, outstanding leadership, and loyal support through belief in the Democratic principles. Today’s members are proud to stand on the shoulders of these past protagonists who championed the important role of Democratic women in poli-tics and government.
