HealthNet Aeromedical Services HealthNet is committed to providing quality, critical care transport to our patients.

HealthNet Aeromedical Services is headquartered in Charleston, West Virginia, and is a not-for-profit critical care transport system cooperatively owned and operated by Cabell Huntington Hospital, Charleston Area Medical Center, and WVU Medicine. The organization operates eight helicopter bases in West Virginia and one in Kentucky and has safely transported over 90,000 patients since beginning operations in 1986.

In spring 2027, a brand-new Airbus H135 aircraft will bring our program's clinical expertise and 40-year legacy of service to Westmoreland County and surrounding communities as part of WVU Medicine’s continued growth in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

One last flight to cap an incredible aviation career. 🚁

Jim Hunter recently took his final flight with our program. From 21 years in Naval Aviation to adventures around the world and eight years with our Base 6 Buckhannon team, Jim’s career has been nothing short of remarkable. But his wife had never flown with him. So, it was fitting that on his final "sightseeing" flight, his wife was by his side. ❤️

Congratulations, Jim, enjoy retirement, and thank you for your years of service!
