Mayor Amy Goodwin for Charleston

10/21/2026

IT'S TIME, CHARLESTON! Early voting is officially underway.

I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported our campaign.

Every person who put up a yard sign. Every volunteer who wrote postcards. Every person who joined us at an event. Every person who shared a post, told a friend or stopped me around town to offer a kind word.

Campaigns are never about one person. They're about people coming together because they believe in their community and its future.

Now I'm asking you to take the most important step: VOTE!

Early voting runs now through October 31. Charleston’s early voting locations are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Charleston's progress belongs to all of us.

Over the next few weeks, I want you to hear from some of the people who make this city such an incredible place to call home.

Today, hear from Paulette about why she’s supporting our campaign and why she wants to keep Charleston moving forward. I'm grateful to have her on our team!

Charleston was recently ranked the #24 state capital in America, a significant climb in just two years.

The rankings also put Charleston #14 for affordability based on cost of living and housing costs and #13 for economic well-being.

We're still seeing that momentum throughout our city. Over the past three years alone, Charleston has attracted more than $315 million in private investment.

That's investment in our city, our neighborhoods and our future. We've worked hard over the past eight years to build a Charleston where businesses want to invest, families want to live and people see opportunity.

I'm proud of how far we've come, but we're far from finished. With your help, we can keep Charleston growing and moving forward for four more years!

We know everything costs more right now. Groceries cost more, gas costs more and everyday expenses are pressuring families across Charleston.

A mayor can't control those prices, but I can ensure city government isn't adding to that burden.

Over the last eight years, we've invested millions in our roads, neighborhoods, parks, public safety and quality of life while keeping Charleston in its strongest financial position in decades. We've done it without asking our residents to shoulder additional city taxes or fees. That's important to me.

We've worked hard to make smart investments, secure outside funding and manage your tax dollars responsibly. Today, Charleston ranks #14 among state capitals for affordability.

I'm proud that we've made real progress without putting an additional burden on the people who call Charleston home. That's the kind of responsible leadership I'll continue bringing to City Hall for four more years!

Something exciting has happened in Charleston. People are coming here!

They're coming for the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta, which welcomed 225,000 attendees last year and generated more than $40 million in economic impact.

They're coming as we host national events like USA Cycling, USA Volleyball and USA Gymnastics, putting Charleston on a national and international stage.

They're coming to run our city marathon alongside runners from across the country and for world-class concerts and entertainment that also give those of us who live here more reasons to get out and enjoy our city.

Charleston is becoming a destination. That's good for our businesses, our restaurants and hotels, our economy and for the way people across the country see Charleston.

Let's keep building on that momentum!

I was so proud to join the doctors, nurses, therapists, and administration to break ground on this $50 MILLION investment in our Capital City!

Congratulations to Vandalia Health and Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation on this exciting new rehabilitation hospital!

This investment will make a tremendous difference in the lives of patients and families across West Virginia!

This investment means greater access to specialized healthcare, new opportunities for our healthcare professionals, and hope for patients and families during some of life’s most challenging moments.

Investments like these don’t happen by accident. They happen because organizations believe in our city, our people, and our future.

We are so grateful for this continued commitment to Charleston and the people of West Virginia!

There are few responsibilities I take more seriously than keeping Charleston families safe.

Our police, fire, and EMS teams put everything on the line for this city. They’re the people Charleston relies on when it matters most, and making sure they have the resources and support they need will always be a priority for me.

I am so incredibly proud and truly honored to have the endorsement of our police, firefighters and EMS!
