Just a reminder to all patrons that we will be holding an event this Saturday the 10th at 10 am! We are hoping it will be the first of an event we can hold quarterly for veterans or family members of veterans. We are aiming to be a resource and support for people regardless of if you check out a book while you're here. Come down and say hello, we will have refreshments for everyone.

Calling all veterans! We will be holding our first quarterly program designed for veterans to get to together and socialize on October 10th. We are looking to foster community in town and will be hosting different speakers for each event. We would be delighted to see anyone who would love to attend at the library at 10am on the 10th. There will be plenty of refreshments and we would love to hear your ideas on future topics!

Hi folks!! We would love some feedback from our community about our hours and services so we built a short survey. It will only take a few minutes and you do not have to answer every question. Every answer is deeply appreciated!!! 🥰

What would you like to see from us at the Unity Free Library?

We just added a TON of early readers books to our shelves ✨ Most of these were at the suggestion of Carolyn Stiles from Unity Elementary 🏫❤️

How to Save an Owl by Kate Messner was nominated for the Purple Finch Award for readers in 3rd and 4th grades. We added this and How to Save a Tortoise from her Wildlife Rescue series today.

Zoom, Goodnight Gorilla, and The Tree and the River are all fantastic wordless books for early readers. They all for readers to make up their own story with the turn of every page. (While Cars and Trucks and Things That Go is not exactly wordless, it can still be fun to imagine where everything is going!)

Finally, we added lots of Bob Book's to our library! These books have been developed for early readers to help them build their skills. The stages we have are designed for kids in kindergarten to first grade. They help kids with repetition, mastering basic phonics, sight words, vowel sounds, one to two syllable words, and high frequency words. The books also get progressively longer to help kids graduate to chapter books.

Come check out all of these and even MORE books that I added to our adult section today. Reading is important at all stages of life 🤗🫡📚📖

It's summer, and that means its swarm season! Bee swarms are going to begin appearing soon, but not to worry. The swarms look dangerous but they're just honey bees looking for a new home. Using BeeSwarmed you can report honey bee swarms and the website will connect you to a local beekeeper who can relocate them safely.

Report them here: https://beeswarmed.org/
