Our office has received numerous complaints that a Deputy/Detective Brooks from the Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Office has contacted them regarding an outstanding warrant. The phone number he is using is 231-442-0116. THIS IS A SCAM! We do not have anyone employed by that name AND our office does not call people regarding outstanding warrants. Thank you.

You will see a large presence of Sheriff Office patrol vehicles today at Harbor Industries. Harbor Industries has graciously allowed us to utilize their parking lot to conduct emergency vehicle operations training!

The Sheriff’s Office was honored to attend Family Night prior to the start of the School year and held a drawling for a ride to School in a patrol car. Tuesday morning, Deputy Kieliszewski gave one lucky student a ride to school in his patrol car and made a quick stop to get breakfast!

This lucky Rayder won the raffle at Family night to get escorted to school by our School Resource Officer, Deputy Kieliszewski!

They even grabbed a special breakfast on the way! But don’t worry, Deputy Kieliszewski got her to school on time!

FEMA and the Federal Communications Commission will test the Emergency Alert System nationwide on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2026, around 2:20 p.m. ET.

What to expect:
• Radio and TV programs will pause for about 1 minute to show the test message.
• You may hear the standard EAS tones.
• The message may be in English, Spanish, or both.
• Cell phones will not receive this test.
• No action is needed.

These tests help ensure emergency alerts work when they matter most.
